Today, virtually everbody uses website browsers which incorporate Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) handling, a Flash player and JavaScript interpretation. We therefore use these facilities to deliver websites with a precision approaching that of print publishing – and also, where appropriate, with dynamic or interactive content.
Tools used for website design and other electronic publishing include Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks (all by Macromedia, now owned by Adobe) with Adobe Premier for video editing.
Most website coding is done directly in HTML (with CSS) and in JavaScript, with Dreamweaver only used as a short cut for complex elements subsequently fine-tuned by hand.
In 2005 InDesign replaced PageMaker as the main tool used for print publishing work, supported by Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Professional (all by Adobe),
Press quality Acrobat files are delivered to an excellent local printer able to accurately reproduce colours and to print our material at high quality precisely as it was designed.
